Marc Barani



After having studied architecture and scenography, he supplements his training by studies of anthropology which led him one year to Nepal.

His team is multidisciplinary and brings together architects, scenographers, designers and landscaper designers.

Today, the Atelier works on projects of very different size and nature, like cultural and educational buildings, housing, offices, bridges, transport infrastructures.

Marc Barani taught architecture from 1993 to 2003 and gives regularly conferences in France and abroad.

In 2008 he received the Equerre d’argent Prize awarded by the Moniteur Group for his tramway terminal of Nice ; with this project, he was a finalist for the Mies van der Rohe Prize in 2009.

In 2013, he was awarded the Grand Prix National de l’Architecture.

Marc Barani is deeply involved with the Ministry of Culture and Communication in works contributing to the elaboration of the New National Strategy for Architecture (SNA), of which he has been hosting the working group “To innovate”.
